Interview with Seth Godin by Marie Forleo on Motivation to Create
Posted on August 21, 2017
Do you ever feel you’ve hit a brick wall when it comes to your author journey? You have these brilliant ideas you want to share with the world, but the motivation to put them on paper is another thing entirely. Writing is certainly no circus. It’s a lonely process staring at a blank screen and creating something out of nothing. It takes guts to create and write — to stay with it over time.
Motivation Needed Please
Well, if you need a good dose of motivation, I think you’ll enjoy today’s post.
Today, I’m introducing you to two of my favorite thinkers and content producers: Marie Forleo and Seth Godin. This post originally appeared on Marie’s site at the following link: Marie’s site link. She has such amazing content for those that are trying to create. And Seth is an amazing “out of the box” thinker who always inspires me to look at the world through a different lens.
It’s about 33 minutes long and is one of the best talks on motivation and the art of creating that I’ve come across in a long while. I hope you’ll take the time to watch it.
If you’re not acquainted with either Marie or Seth, I highly encourage you to do so. Their sites are found here and are rich with content and motivation:

I’ve produced an outline of the major points they discussed to help you quickly and easily reference various sections of the discussion.

10:37 – How to handle the fear of being judged when you’re blogging/creating.

Wrapup
There are so many tidbits of practical wisdom in this 33 minute talk. Here is an example:
“Our goal isn’t to touch everyone, our goal is to touch someone. To change someone, just one person. If you get good at that, do 5, then do 100. But stop worrying about everyone. Everyone doesn’t matter.”
(Seth Godin, 31:42 in the video.)
Today’s Question:
What ideas or comments in the interview inspires you to keep creating? I’d love to hear your thoughts. Thanks for reading.
