Website Building
Whether you’re an author of fiction, non-fiction, children’s books, technical material, memoirs, business topics, or any other type of material, today’s technology gives you opportunities to distribute your books digitally or on paper to more readers than ever before. But you have to be creative, like never before, to understand and develop those channels. For most authors, the hub of their expression to the outside world, starts with a website. We assist authors with web development to develop their online presence.
Social Media
While some authors write for the sheer pleasure of putting their thoughts on paper – whether or not anyone ever reads their writings – most write to be read. They cast out their thoughts and imaginings similar to the way one blows on a dandelion and its seeds are caught by the wind. But not all author creations are for “the masses”. The challenge is to find and develop that special tribe of readers that must get their hands on the latest thing that you’ve written.
The world of social media makes this possible like never before. We’re all familiar with platforms like Facebook, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Google+, StumbleUpon, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, and Skype, to name a few. But not all these platforms are ideal for all authors. And even if they were, who has the time? Authors were born to write, not to tweet. We assist authors to understand the changing social media landscape that is swirling all around us, and to make sense of which platforms make the most sense for them.
Author Blogging
We attended a writer’s guild conference a few months ago. Most of the people in the gathering were experienced authors with multiple publishings. The topic for the evening was Blogging as an Author. The speaker asked how many people in the group of 40 had a blog. About 3 hands went up. She then proceeded to give some valuable information about how the group could begin to blog and the value for doing so. We assist authors in understanding the role that blogging plays in building up their author presence and how to implement it.
We’d love to connect with you about these possible improvements to your author “platform”.
